This was probably Sunflower I became a teacher because your life is worth my time shirt switched to sea salt or Himalayan pink salt. Still, pretty nifty hacks! I can use up that old can of salt in the back of my cupboard. When I worked as a waitress in a diner, we used salt, ice, and lemon juice to clean the coffee pots. Scoop of ice, generous with the salt, squeeze in two lemon wedges, swirl for a minute or two, dump and rinse. Still use it to clean my coffee pots to this day! Salt increases oxidation of fatty acids in cooking oil resulting to premature oil breakdown. Not healthy. Salt is highly corrosive to stainless steel. Frequently using it can cause steel to rust. You can try this by keeping a new or bright stainless steel spoon overnight in salt solution.

If you scrap up you iron it will collect more junk and it wont iron evenly. The best iron is a smooth iron. Keep a block of wax from a craft store, wrapped in a cloth tea towel, at the end of your ironing board. Run your hot iron over it occasionally and it will stay nice and smooth with no problems. I never tried salt and wax paper to clean my iron but I have tried Toothpaste. White toothpaste of course. It works perfectly. I take it the powder is baking soda but would really be better. This does work for the iron. As a kid, at our house, that is how we would clean off the starch build up. It works for that, anyway.
